A current assignment, involves working on tracking data of Ospreys from Germany, data collected by Dr. Bernd Meyburg & colleagues. The large dataset offers the unique opportunity to answer a range of questions, varying from finescale daily movements to repeatability of migration routes and the influence of the environment on all of these. Shown here is the extent of migration of this population – A = autumn migration, B = spring migration, red = females, blue = males, solid line = GPS data, dotted line = ARGOS data with solar power, dashed line = ARGOS data with battery power and stars are stopovers of >24 hours ((c) Meyburg et al.).
